DONATING HAIR, A SIMPLE ACT OF LOVE
In 2022, as Kat and I worked to achieve the goals of I Am Kenzo Brave, I began reflecting on how I could contribute on a more personal level. Inspired to make a meaningful impact, I decided to grow my hair with the intention of donating it to support pediatric cancer patients. By September 2023, I took the first step toward this aim. I’ve always worn my hair short, so as the months passed, I learned that the ideal length for donation is 10 inches or longer. It is December 2024 and I am 2 inches shy of that goal, hence the commitment to keep it growing and maintain its health continue.
It’s truly heartwarming to know there are others who have made the commitment to give back. In Beulah, Michigan, we met Keith, who stood out with his striking long hair. Naturally, I asked him about it. He explained, “I’ve been growing my hair to donate to Wigs for Kids.” Keith shared that he had made a similar donation several years ago and was now preparing to give another 16 inches of his thick hair. Thank you, Keith, for your generosity! (Photo by: Dale Senn)

IAKB in the USA!
From September 2024, our little Kenzo book has been shared in the following cities: Grand Rapids and Traverse City in Michigan. We have also donated copies of the book c/o the fundraiser of the St. Patrick of Traverse City It has also found its way to Nevada c/o the visual artist, Martine of Las Vegas. We will continue to spread the message of hope and the brave affirmation everywhere we go…
